自分がHip Hopを好きになった"哀愁"を感じられる曲です。
JAY-Zを聴いたのは高校2年生の時に、"Vol. 2, Hard Knock Life"のLPを購入して聴いたのが最初だったと思いますが、
今のJAY-Zを聞いてもその時と変わらず自分のスタイルを貫き通しているのが、素晴らしい所だと思います。
その当時の自分の部屋で、レコードに針を落とす瞬間を思い出させてくれます。
6畳の自分の部屋から、ニューヨークのブルックリンまで、飛ばしてくれました。
アメリカの音楽のかっこよさへの憧れが、どんどん強くなっていったように思います。
高校の授業中に"blast"(Hip Hop専門誌)を読むようになり、当時インターネットも無い事から、
本や雑誌、ミックステープやレコード店から情報収集をしていました。
今考えるとインターネットが無い事が楽しかったように感じます。
高校の通勤途中に聴く、"Kid Capri"のミックステープは最高でした。
"LL Cool J - Mama Said Knock You Out"の2枚使いを思い出します。
話はそれてしまいましたが、それが"JAY-Z"というアーティストの力であると思います。
